“ForeLight Junior Lab Apprenticeship Program”
ForeLight is a start-up company on the South Side of Chicago working to build a more sustainable future through biotechnology. Seeing the lab as an ideal classroom filled with opportunities to learn, not just about chemistry and biology, but also about history, experimental design, engineering and communication. They’re working to develop a one-of-a-kind program that revolves around empowering children to seek knowledge, and giving them the tools and skills to do so with confidence, wonder and a healthy level of skepticism.

As a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, I help to lead an organization that protects the drinking water for millions of people, that treats sewage and manages our precious freshwater resources in the form of rain.
